Characteristics of magnesium zirconium bricks

One of the most significant characteristics of magnesia-zirconium bricks is their high density. Laboratory studies show that the density of magnesia-zirconium bricks can reach 3.5 g/cm³, significantly higher than many traditional refractory materials. This high density results in a low porosity, typically below 18%. Portanto, magnesia-zirconium bricks exhibit excellent resistance to molten metal penetration and corrosion. Magnesia-zirconium bricks also possess strong alkali resistance, maintaining their structural integrity and performance for extended periods in high-temperature alkaline environments. Studies have shown that in environments with high concentrations of alkaline substances, the erosion rate of magnesia-zirconium bricks over a certain period is only about 10% of that of ordinary refractory bricks.

Magnesium zirconium bricks application industries

Magnesia-zirconium bricks are widely used in high-temperature industrial applications. In steelmaking converters, these bricks can be used for furnace walls, resisting the corrosion of high-temperature molten steel and slag. In glass melting furnaces, these bricks resist corrosion from high-temperature molten glass and combustion gases. In cement kilns, they protect the kiln structure from high temperatures and chemical erosion, thus ensuring the long-term stable operation of these facilities.

Magnesium zirconium bricks advantages

  1. High refractive index, capable of withstanding extremely high temperatures in harsh environments.
  2. Alta resistência mecânica, able to withstand heavy loads and impacts.
  3. Excellent thermal shock stability, maintaining integrity even under thermal stress.
  4. Good slag resistance, effectively resisting erosion by various slags.
